first_imgArsenal Foundation raises £1m for Save the Children Howard Lake | 9 June 2015 | News The Arsenal Foundation has now raised £1 million for its global charity partner Save the Children. Players Kieran Gibbs, Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin made the announcement in a video.[youtube height=”450″ width=”800″]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVNjAApTwvA[/youtube]The video features Arsenal Foundation Ambassadors Martin Keown and Robert Pires, as well as current midfielder Abou Diaby, meeting some of the children who have been helped through the Save the Children programmes that The Arsenal Foundation has funded. The funds raised have, for example, helped Save the Children respond to emergencies in the Philippines, Sierra Leone, Syria and, most recently in Nepal.The ‘1 MILLION’ strip, worn by Giroud in the film, was presented to the charity’s Chief Executive Justin Forsyth by Arsène Wenger at the annual Arsenal Foundation Ball last month.Arsenal players Kieran Gibbs, Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin announce that The Arsenal Foundation has raised £1million for Save the Children.
